Nutmeg!

A nostalgic football manager game with a deckbuilding twist, set in the ’80s and ’90s. Relive the days when the tackles were as hard as the mullets were long and football was about football.

Zool Redimensioned — gameplay scene

Zool Redimensioned

A remastered take on Gremlin Graphics’ 1990s Amiga classic “Ninja from the Nth Dimension”. Remaking Zool gave the Academy’s first cohort a shared, challenging production in which to grow into a professional programming team.

Academy’s involvement

  • Remade the full 1990s platformer as a graduation project for the first Academy cohort.
  • Rebuilt level design, physics and controls to feel modern while honouring the original.
  • Shipped to PC and Nintendo Switch with full publisher support.
  • Used as the core production vehicle through which apprentices learned professional pipelines.

A side-scrolling 1970s oil-rig simulation set as the official prequel to Still Wakes the Deep. Run an oil rig, drill for new deposits beneath the North Sea, and discover what lurks below. Free-to-play on Steam since May 2024.

Academy’s involvement

  • Designed and shipped a side-scrolling oil-rig simulation as the official prequel to Sumo Digital’s Still Wakes the Deep.
  • Built the 1970s art direction and text-driven event system that carries the in-game narrative without bespoke voice work.
  • Integrated Steam Achievements and live-ops telemetry across 27 in-game milestones for a free-to-play launch.
  • Delivered to commercial release in partnership with Secret Mode, the publisher behind Still Wakes the Deep.
  • Placeholder bullet, to be replaced once the Academy team confirms the production-final summary.
